Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician£25,000+BenefitsOur client is a leading manufacturer of food products based in the north of England and they are actively seeking a skilled QA Technician to join their established team and help bolster the quality department. They were remained operational throughoutthe pandemic and have continued to be successful and grow as a business, due to this continued growth they now need YOU to be able to maintain the excellent long standing client relations and uphold their passion for high quality products!Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage site step process from intake to outload through checks and auditing
  • QA approval of documentation control, line clearing and process deviations
  • Liaise with technical and production departments to ensure actions/ projects are started, and finished according to site, customer and national standards
  • Ensure all staff on site follow GMP requirements
  • Escalate any issues that cannot be rectified and inform the technical and operational function to keep in the loop
  • Supplier audit assistance (if required)
  • Site traceability exercises (as and when required)
  • Routine analysis from intake to outload of raw materials, packaging, finished product and process (collection and logging of samples for micro, chemical, allergen testing)
  • Perform manual and automated testing and recording related results. Completing spreadsheets and highlighting issues when seen
  • Oversee the food safety, legality and quality standards on site.
Specific Activities/Duties:Verification checks of:Intake & Outload
  • Inspection of raw materials that are delivered- egg, milk, flour, flour (GF), sausages, adhoc raw materials
  • QC check egg/ milk
  • Check addition of raw materials & packaging to Marco
  • Delivery of film and acetate
  • Outbound product before dispatch.
Storage Areas (ambient, chiller & freezer)
  • Check dates of stored materials and ensure the correct labelling is in place
  • Check dates of stored materials, ensure that the correct process dated product is being used (this may not be FIFO)
  • Oil pods correctly labelled.
Kitchen
  • Monitor oil & batter weights against the specification
  • Oven entry paperwork completed correctly
  • Mixing vs egg usage sheet checked for anomalies
  • Monitor CCP1 (sieving) controls are followed
  • Ensure that correct labelling of raw material & WIP throughout all areas
  • Dates on raw materials against mixing sheet.
Packing
  • Oven exit checks temperature and product (quality checks- colour, height, weight)
  • Monitor CCP2 (metal detectors) controls are followed
  • Production paperwork completion, accurate and legible
  • Ensure that production T2 checks are carried out to the correct procedure
  • Check product seals are intact
  • Temperature of product to production lines
  • Ensure that correct labelling of WIP throughout area
  • Check product against current QAS.
Boxing
  • Checking product and dates match outer boxes
  • Check finished product against current QAS.
Sampling, testing and calibration/verification of devices:
  • Taking QA samples to chill/ freezer from boxing area
  • Removal of out of date QA samples of chill rack (record abnormalities & raise)
  • Collection of samples for testing by external lab, as per schedules (water, allergen testing, environmental swabbing, shelf life, nutritionals, raw materials, etc.)
  • Hygiene inspection and sign off if required
  • Titration tests
  • PH Testing
  • Monitor environmental (water, air) temperatures
  • Gluten Free swabbing & retaining samples for lab and checks
  • Beef dripping swabbing
  • ATP Clean swabs
  • Calibrate scales, micrometer, probes
  • Conduct/ assist taste panels
  • CCP 1 & 2 verification.
Auditing as per Schedules:
  • Daily GMP audits
  • Weekly glass audits
  • Monthly glass audits
  • CCP Audits
  • Training of staff when required.
