Why do we need youAre you someone who is passionate about hands on process managementAt Saint-Gobain Glass, we are looking for a Batch Plant Manager to work in our Eggborough site to focus on managing the batch plant, raw material & cullet processing operations to achieve required manufacturing objectives and performancestandards.Part of the Saint-Gobain Group, Saint-Gobain Glass is Europes leading manufacturer of flat glass for the UK market. Management of Health, Safety and Environment, in the batch plant including, Risk assessments, Reviewing procedures, Environmental compliance etc.
Management of the batch & Cullet processing plants including ordering, delivery, unloading, stock control and storage of raw materials.
Measuring & improving the operation of the newly installed cullet processing plant including setting up KPIs, yield & OEE systems.
Coordinate Planned and unplanned repairs to the batch & cullet equipment and ensure Nickel pollution meets our strict specification.
To support, train and develop the team effectively to operate both plants.
To ensure the quality of the product, in line with customer requirements.
Manage permanent contractor labour relating to batch / cullet plant operations.
Take part in the continuous improvement programme (World Class Manufacturing) onsite.

What were looking for:

Adherence to H&S legislation, including auditing, Risk Assessments and Permit to Work.
Excellent communication skills, both internally and with external suppliers and customers.
Good people management skills.
Educated to degree in Materials Science, Engineering or equivalent.
Excellent IT skills including Excel.
Experience of the World Class Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodology.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally a continuous process, either at a fully competent operator or shift manager level.

Desirable:

Experience in dealing with external suppliers.
Engineering experience would be an advantage.
Quality/systems experience.
Production planning/organisational skills.
