Job Description

Job Description We are currently looking for an I&M Engineer for our client who is a leading Construction company in the UK.The Instrumentation & Monitoring Engineer is responsible for:Assist the Instrumentation and Monitoring Project Engineer on all I&M related engineering issuesProvide specialist technical support to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the project totime, budget and quality Assisting with the planning and procurement of instruments / sensorsInstallation of geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring of readingsHealth & Safety Risk Assessment and PlanningKey activities/responsibilities

  • Provide support regarding the design of I&M systems.
  • Provide support in development and implementation of I&M related project deliverables, in accordance with specifications and technical standards.
  • Assist in coordination and supervision for installation and operation, maintenance and calibration in compliance with Specification in timely matter, ensuring no delays to construction programme.
  • Analysis and interpretation of monitoring data for risk management during construction and validation of design assumptions
  • Ensuring that baseline readings are undertaken in advance of construction activity, at the frequency specified in Designers and Contractors Monitoring Plans
  • Attending Review Meeting and reporting against the agreed trigger level
  • Initiating the pre-agreed contingency measures and Management Action Team, as required
Experience
  • Degree qualified in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering or similar discipline
  • Geotechnical or structural monitoring background, including equipment, data capture, processing, sensor installation and decommissioning.
  • Three to six years’ experience of construction of comparable schemes
  • High level of IT systems awareness to be able to operate I&M specific software, SharePoint and all bespoke reporting applications
  • Full driving licence valid in the UK
