Job Description

POSITION: Maintenance EngineerSALARY: c£32,000 per annumHOURS: Full-timeLOCATION:KA14 3DBDESCRIPTION:Based in Glengarnock, North Ayrshire, with Head Office facilities at Prestwick Aerospace Park, our client manufactures precision components for a global customer base within various industries. The company’s own in-house investment casting foundry expertly casts in a range of materials, from stainless steels through to aluminium. Offering a turnkey solution with full traceability throughout, customers’ components are finish machined, managed and controlled under trusted guidance within the purpose-built facilities. The heart and soul of the business is in creativity and innovation, and quality is the foundation that the business and reputation was built on.Due to continued investment the company is looking for atemporary Maintenance Engineerto undertake electrical and mechanical maintenance service and repair of specialist foundry equipment. The role is anticipated to be on a 6-month contract basis, although this may be extended.JOB ROLE (not limited to):

  • This role will involve the maintenance, service and repair of electrical control panels, hoists, 3 phase electrics and control circuits, wax presses, shell room, VIP units and other equipment.
  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • The successful candidate will be an experienced, time-served electrical engineer with good basic mechanical maintenance capabilities.
  • Ideally you will be qualified to a minimum HNC standard, although this is not essential, if you can demonstrate a good knowledge of 415V electrical skills and be able to read schematic drawings.
  • Although mainly workshop based, there may be a requirement to attend occasional site breakdowns so a driving licence would be an advantage.
  • You will be self-motivated, I.T. literate, and have an eye for detail.
  • You will possess strong communication skills, be able to hit the ground running and enjoy leading a number of small teams.
  • You should be able to adhere to all health and safety and company policies
  • You should live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
