REVENUE ACCOUNTANTLoganair LimitedGlasgow AirportFull Time (35 hours pw)/Permanent PositionApplications are invited for the Revenue Accountant role within our Finance Department, based adjacent to Glasgow Airport.MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBAct as a Revenue Accounting specialist within the financial accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness of Revenue and support the Revenue & Commercial Business Partner with timely Revenue reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue AccountingEnsure company Revenue and Finance policies, procedures and forms are complied with and adhered to consistently throughout the company;Identify and resolve areas of financial weakness in a timely manner;Balance Sheet Reconciliations for accounts assigned to the Revenue Accounting function;P&L reporting and analysis of all Revenue Accounting nominals;Ensure all revenue is reported and complete by having control checks in place;Ensure timely submission and payment of all flown tax returns;Ensure timely submission of air discount scheme claimsUnflown Revenue control and reporting;Passenger reconciliation for flown passengers;Ancillary Revenue Control and reporting;Simplified Invoice System (SIS) Control, reconciliation;Agent Invoice and Credit note (ADM/ACM) control;Control of debtors with agents and airlines to ensure write offs are minimised;Oversight of refund processing;Working with the Treasury Accountant to advise of projected cash receipts;Liaise with outsourced Revenue Accounting Team;Keep abreast of industry developments by attending industry forums;Provide VAT information to the Financial Accounting Team for completing the monthly VAT return;Provide analysis to the Revenue & Commercial Business Partner as required;Support the production of the weekly revenue flash and revenue budget/forecasts.People ManagementEnsure direct reports job descriptions, roles and responsibilities are accurate and up to date and objectives are SMART;Ensure direct reports have monthly one to ones and quarterly personal development plans;Identify and support any training and development needs for self and team;Hold regular team meetings with the finance team so that consistency best practice and ideas are shared across the team.Ad Hoc and OtherRepresent finance in any revenue/commercial meetings and for any projects being carried out within commercial;Ensure all financial and accounting records are thoroughly maintained and completed in preparation for independent audits;Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed;Present at meetings as and when required;Assist with special Finance projects in support of key corporate initiatives as defined by the BoardAny other reasonable duties as required by the finance and commercial department MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Airline or travel industry experience desirable;Hold a relevant CCAB accounting qualification with relevant PQE gained in a similar environment desirable;Would consider newly qualified or part qualified working towards qualification;Experience and strong understanding of ticketing and reservation systems;Comfortable working on an integrated accounting package together with a detailed knowledge of core office systems — particularly Excel KEY ATTRIBUTES Analytical skills — Strong analytical and numeracy skills;Interpersonal skills - ability to build relationships at all levels; assess own strengths and weakness; pursue training and development opportunitiesCommunication and influencing — Strong influencing and relationship building skills.
