Job Description

Competitive Salary + BenefitsFacilities Technician: Working for a well-established, family-owned distribution company, a hands-on, technically minded Facilities Technician is required to take responsibility for the implementation and provision of our Facilities Management.Based at the Leeds company HQ, the successful candidate will join an organisation that never rests on its well-earned reputation but rather continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of its customers. The successful candidate for this newly created role will carry out a varied and broad remit centred around the maintenance and general upkeep of both buildings within the group, along with any temporary sites utilised from time to time, whilst organising andliaising with Visiting contractors on site for more complex specialist maintenance & Inspection activities. The role holder will be expected to complete a wide range of repair and maintenance activities within the buildings. As such, previous experience ina similar practical, hands on role is essential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a good level of practical skills. A significant element of this role will be the undertaking general maintenance work to a good standard.
  • Good general physical health will be required as many of these duties will include lifting and carrying.
  • A 60-40 split between practical works and administrative duties is expected.
  • Good IT knowledge including a working understanding of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook in particular.
  • Plan and liaise with Head of Operations to ensure all Health & Safety related protocols throughout the buildings are in place and suitably monitored.
  • To arrange and manage periodic inspections in line with various acts of Legislation and to complete in a timely manner all works advised as a result of those inspections.
  • Plan and provide inductions to visitors and contractors and to manage all on site works by Third Parties, ensuring the safety of all and the on time - in budget completion of project works,
  • Assess and challenge Risk Assessments & Method Statements from visiting contractors to ensure they are complying with all necessary safety protocols.
