Gateshead Health NHS foundation trustDivision: Surgical servicesDepartment: Ward 14aGrade – Band 5Full time / PermanentSalary: £24,907 - £30,615An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Surgical Trauma and Orthopedic ward for a caring, compassionate Band 5 Nurse who is dynamic, innovative and motivated.Do you like to be challenged, provide quality care, and work within a dedicated Multi-disciplinary team Then Trauma and Orthopedics at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is the place for youYou will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care that supports our department to provide a quality service that responds to the needs of our Trauma and orthopedic patients. We offer a pathway for efficient, safe and effective management of patients with a fractured neck of femur, and work with a variety of different trauma cases. We have a full multidisciplinary approach to our care with ward-based physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and daily multi-disciplinary team meeting.A new and exciting opportunity waits for you to gain experience in caring for many aspects within the specialty, and completion of our local competency-based training programme, which focuses on aspects of orthopedic nursing care, including pain management, orthopedic emergencies and the management of the acutely ill patient.Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team are essential. You will be well organised, able to use your initiative, prioritize your work load, and strive to achieve high standards within the ward environment.
