Job Description

Permanent position. I am currently recruiting for an excellent experienced Transport Planner role for a leading Transport Planning company based in Gateshead. This is a full-time permanent position with a salary between £25,000 to £35,000 depending in experience. This is an office based role.This role involves:

  • Preparation of detailed Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
  • Preparation of Travel Plans as well as Travel Plan Coordination
  • Preparation and presentation of technical data and drawings
  • Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Liaison with clients, contractors and local / national authorities as required
  • Attendance at meetings / public consultation events as required
  • Management of small / medium sized projects
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff within the team
  • Taking ownership of other traffic / transport related tasks as required by your Team Leader
Education/ Experience required:
  • Degree in applicable subject; Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering
  • 2-5 years experience of UK Transport Planning standards and processes
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Advanced understanding of spreadsheets / presentation of technical outputs e.g. traffic flows
  • Use of AutoCAD
  • Proficient use of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
  • Ability to work easily and accurately with numbers
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage own workload
  • Provide direction to junior staff on small / medium sized projects
  • Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to work proactively and use initiative.
  • Driving licence and own transport is essential
