Job Description

THE BUSINESSWestray Recruitment Group is seeking a Technical Writer for our client based in Gateshead. The organisation in question is expanding its operations and runs multiple lines to serve many instantly recognisable house hold brands.THE ROLE
  • Write product specifications within the respective customer specification databases and provide technical support to the technical team, including artwork amends and regulatory/supplier updates.
  • Accurate inputting and maintenance of online retailer & supplier portals including the management of information flow and accurate input from the NPD process.
  • Management of raw material specifications and documentation ensuring legal compliance.
  • Assisting the department in the management of the quality management system, including conducting internal audits, ensuring document control at all times and completing traceability and recall exercises.
THE PERSON
  • Excellent communicator with a strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and intuitive
  • Comfortable in working to tight deadlines
  • Confident working within a factory environment
It is essential that you have Food Industry experience and/or a Food related Degree.
  • Finished Product Specification Writing experience on Retailer Portals
  • Experience in raw material & packaging specifications and obtaining information from suppliers
  • IT literate in all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of HACCP principles, allergen management, nutritional information and food law legal labelling
  • Food safety level 2 (Desirable)
