CK Technical are recruiting for a Research & Development Engineer to join a company in the medical diagnostics industry at their site based in Gateshead on a contract basis for a period of circa 18 months.The Company:Our client is a leading medical diagnostic company that specialise in the design, manufacture and support of Clinical Electrophoresis and Haemostasis systems.Location:This role is located in Gateshead and will require occasional travel to our clients other site in Sunderland. Research & Development Engineer Role:Your main duties will be the design, development and testing of innovative IVD automation solutions and systems before their production phase. Further responsibilities may include assisting with:- Requirements specifications- Generating hardware specifications- Schematic entry though to PCB layout- Fabrication- Commissioning- Verification- Managing systems integration into platforms.Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have- Highly creative and highly technical is a must.- A track record in concept generation; engineering and statistical analysis and detail design; design of experiments; design for high and low volume manufacturing.- Previous experience in medical devices would be highly desirable.- Knowledge of quality requirements in medical devices would also be highly desirable including ISO 13485, 21CFR820 and ISO14971; design control; compilation of Design History File; verification and validation.For more information or to apply for this Research & Development Engineer position, please contact George Truman on or email , quoting job ref It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UKTECHGEN
