Job Description

The business is committed to investing in their Gateshead manufacturingfacilities and when joining NFF, you will gain access to a best in class training programme and your journey with the business will have limitless potential.In this role, you will be given access to world class training in order to develop your competency to operate machines and equipment that automatically mixes ingredients, to make straight and sponge doughs according to a secret formula. It is essential thatyou are physically fit, as this role entails undertaking some manual lifting of heavy loads.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Undertaking all training necessary to be able to work without supervision
  • Helping on the packing lines where necessary
  • Moving controls and valves in order to adjust metering devices that weigh, measure, sift, and convey water, flour, and shortening into mixer, and that measure and dump yeast, sugar, salt, and other ingredients into mixing machine.
  • Weighing up ingredients and following mixing instructions as per recipe sheet.
  • Ensuring handover procedure is followed with oncoming/outgoing mixing operators by being in pre-batch area 10 minutes prior to start of shift.
  • Conducting physical checks on raw materials to ensure they conform to specificity standards (report to Line Manager if not)
  • Using raw materials in strict rotation.
  • Selecting correct batch sheets and following correct mixing procedures.
  • Ensuring boil settings are correctly adhered to.
  • Follow systems and procedures correctly.
  • Following traceability procedures / removing all plastic from pallets and disposing of using correct procedure. Leaving tickets on product.
  • Checking dough for desired consistency against specifications.
  • Recording number of batches mixed on correct documentation.
  • Weighing and measure ingredients which are manually fed into mixer.
  • Maintaining the set hygiene standards and ensuring clean as you go procedure is followed at all times.
  • Following nut handling/gluten free and all other company procedures accurately.
  • Ensuring plant runs at all times by monitoring dough feeder level / monitoring weights and line 2 sheet density.
  • Following manual handling guidelines and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times.
  • Completing relevant documentation in accurate and timely manner i.e. weigh station forms, boil sheets etc.
  • Ensuring correct sieving procedures are followed
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Right to work in United Kingdom
  • Good verbal and written English communication.
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Manual Handling Awareness
  • Physically fit
  • Good strong production experience
Food manufacturing experience would be extremely useful as would a Level 2 certificate in Health and Safety and Food Safety. However, this is by no means essential.HOURS OF WORKThis is a permanent night shift role where you will be required to work a total of 36 hours per week, comprising of 3 x 12-hour shifts. You will work Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday one week and then the following week you will work Thursday, Friday & Saturday.You will not work on a Sunday.
