Youll be someone who is committed to leading, managing and developing your team of payroll offices and will be committed to working with the Finance Director to identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and to the payroll system to make bothyour job and that of your team as smooth and error free as possible.What youll be doing:Youll be holding a critical role as Payroll Manager and take full responsibility for the accurate completion of the monthly payroll cycle for all Livability staff ensuring that sufficient checks are carried out through payroll reports to ensure the accuracyof pay and will also ensure that RTI submissions and payments to HMRC are made on time.Compliance with pension auto enrolment duties will also form a key part of your role, including re-enrolment. Youll make sure submissions are uploaded to pension portals and payments are made to the providers in a timely manner. Reconcile pension paymentspromptly and resolve any discrepancies.Youll lead and oversee the processing of all changes into the payroll system including starters, leavers, employment changes, sickness, family leave, adhoc payment and deductions, timesheets and tax code changes. Youll ensure that overpayment recalculationsare carried out, checked for accuracy and notified to the relevant parties in a timely manner. Youll lead on providing payroll systems support to the team such as troubleshooting, investigating and resolving issues. Liaising with systems support, both internally and externally, to ensure issues are raised and resolved and youll make sure that all membersof the payroll team have sufficient system training.You will keep the payroll processes under review and will seek to identify ways in which they could be improved and made more efficient to improve the quality and accuracy of data collected and processed by the Payroll and People & Change functions. You will be the face of the payroll department as a point of contact for all payroll queries from employees, management and the payroll team. Youll deal with all queries in a timely, efficient, professional and confidential manner.Youll use your communication skills to liaise with HMRC, DWP, HM Courts Service and other external agencies in relation to any queries relating to payroll and employees What youll need to offer:As an experienced Payroll Manager youll ideally have a payroll qualification from CIPP or other professional body and will have honed your payroll experience across a large and complex payroll with detailed experience of UK payroll including PAYE, NationalInsurance and statutory payments. Ideally youll have experience of pensions including auto enrolment.Youll have proven experience in using payroll systems and Excel skills includingknowledge of Vlookups and Pivot tables. Experience of Access systems including SelectPay, SelectHR and Dimensions would be extremely useful.Youll have previous experience of leading, managing and developing a payroll team.Ideally youll have previous payroll experience gained within a Social or Health Care or Education sector, but any relevant complex payroll experience of organisations with over 1000 employees would also be considered.As an individual youll have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written and will be self-motivated and pro-active with the ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs and demands of the organisationYoull be confident in forming relationships with stakeholders across the business and will be able to identify and propose solutions to a problemYoull have an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy whilst maintaining the ability to prioritise workloads and a commitment to team working.Whats in it for you:As a package many of the best perks of this role are those you cant put a price on:* Pleasant office environment with parking and close to Gateshead Metro station and other public transport links and an ongoing commitment to hybrid working so for 2 - 3 days per week you might not have a very long walk to your office at all!
