Development Engineer (Medical Devices)Competitive salary & package2-year Fixed Term ContractMonday - Friday (9-5)Gateshead Are you an experienced Development Engineer with experience within the Medical industry looking for an immediate, long term contract roleDo you have a passion for innovation and enjoy solving intricate engineering problemsThis fantastic company have established themselves as a globally recognized, market leading manufacturer. With prestigious projects in the pipeline they are now looking for a skilled an innovative Development Engineer on a 2-year Fixed term contract basis to add support to the permanent team.On offer is a fantastic opportunity for a first-class Development Engineer to play an integral role in a specialist and close-knit team designing, developing and testing innovative technology solutions and systems.The role

  • Lead and support research, development and design projects
  • Develop products and designs, drawings and documentation
  • Delivery of projects to tight timescales, communicating through plans, presentations and written reports
  • Research and investigate technologies and processes to ensure that the Company remains aware of latest developments
  • Concept generation; engineering and statistical analysis and detail design; design of experiments; design for high and low volume manufacturing
  • Working to ISO 13485, 21CFR820 and ISO14971; design control; compilation of Design History File; verification and validation and the relevant product approvals (emissions, susceptibility, environmental)
  • The Person
  • HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good 3D CAD skills SolidWorks (or similar), experience of manufacturing drawings and document control during the production process
  • Proven track record in the Medical Devices sector (or similar e.g. Scientific) preferably having previously involved in the project management of product launch from cradle to grave
  • Experience working on R&D based projects
  • Understanding of general manufacturing techniques and engineering materials including moulded plastics, metals, and sensors
