Job Description

The CompanyOur client is a market leading manufacturer due to sustained growth they are now recruiting for a Development Engineer with Electronics experience.The Role

  • Working within a small engineering team to develop new products.
  • Providing support for new product development from concept, through prototype testing and into manufacture, as well as existing product support, whilst working within our ISO9001 QMS for product development.
  • Support of new product development from concept to manufacture.
  • Product validation and improvement testing on new and existing products.
  • Development of test rigs and test methodology in line with industry requirements.
  • Development of product electrical control systems, including the use of PLC and HMI hardware and an understanding of typical communication protocols (MODBUS, Ethernet IP etc). PLC programming ability would be an advantage.
  • Involvement in electrical product approvals.
  • Technical support for customers, suppliers and development partners as required.
The Person
  • Degree in electrical / electronic engineering (Some mechanical Engineering knowledge is also preferable). Other equivalent or relevant qualifications will also be considered.
  • Experience in the development of electrical control systems and PLC software development.
  • Production of electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Previous experience working within a product development/manufacturing environment, preferably within a related industry.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects, often under pressure and with limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to get things right first time.
  • Sound communication and report writing skills.
