Job Description

Love Sport Love finance We are the Great Run Company, and we are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team based in a brand-new office on the banks of the River Tyne. We are united by our ambition to deliver exceptional events, our commitment to teamwork, our pursuit of excellence, and our unwavering accountabilityin all that we do.ResponsibilitiesThe Accounts Assistant will manage all aspects of purchase ledger and expense processing for the business to aid the timely and accurate completion of key Finance reports. As well as assisting the team with other adhoc Finance duties when required.Key Accountabilities

  • Purchase invoice processing and issue resolution for all Group companies.
  • Expense processing and issue resolution for all Group companies.
  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any resulting queries and discrepancies.
  • P2P System Management, maximizing the functionality from the P2P system.
  • Prepare and maintain a month end accrual schedule.
  • Prepare month end payment runs, and mid-month payment runs (in peak periods), as well as a monthly expenses payment and other ad hoc payments upon request.
  • Deal with supplier queries promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with the onboarding of a new Finance system, including new P2P system, including training of users once implemented.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • A finance background with experience in Purchase Ledger is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software - preferably Sage.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
