Job Description

Carmac (Building & Civil Engineering) Ltd undertake groundworks and civil engineering projects in predominantly the residential house building market for various clients across the East Midlands and Northern Home Counties.   • We are looking to recruit a trainee Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our busy commercial team. Primarily office based (at our offices in Finedon, Northants) the ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commute to this location.This is a mixed estimating and surveying role, and your tasks will include:
  • Printing and distribution of drawings
  • Procurement of materials and labour
  • Checking sub-contractors measures
  • Site visits to assess progress of works
  • Marking up drawings to record progress of works
  • Pricing and tendering
  • Previous knowledge of estimating or quantity surveying is not required as this is a trainee role in which you will be learning on the job. A good work ethic, willingness to learn and proficient numeracy skills are however vital for the role.Full training in all aspects of the role and construction health and safety will be provided.Other benefits include company phone (or allowance), company vehicle (or allowance), employer contributory pension scheme.Hours are 7.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday Required skills
