Manage the movement and clearance of goods in and out of UK in line with current customs regulationsEnsure timely management of drivers arriving /departing requiring documentation processing.Assist in product development and process improvementEnsure business needs are metRESPONSIBILITIESCommunicate with HMRC and other authorities to ensure goods are cleared and releasedEnsure HMRC rules and regulations are adhered to.Liaise with customers (both internal and external) providing updates on shipment status, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.Ensure company values and strategies are followedFeed market information into business to ensure we offer most competitive serviceWork closely with sales team to grow customer share of walletSupport Customs Freight Manager in the development and growth of departmentAdHoc functions as and when required and directed by line managerAssist other departments as and when required / feasibleEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS1-2 years HMRC entry processing / CDS experienceGood HSS code knowledge / classificationBasic understanding of PEACH and DEFRA applicationsGood temperature controlled equipment knowledgeKnowledge or experience of importing or exporting fresh produce / foodstuffExperience with Cargowise a bonusCHARACTERISTICSCommunication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication is essential when interacting with clients, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams.
