Job Description

Michael Page Logistics are looking to recruit an Express Operations Manager for our client based in Heathrow.Client DetailsOur client are a leading freight forwarder offering a complete service to its customer base. They operate across 3 sites in the UK and this role will be based at the Heathrow site.DescriptionIn the role of Express Operations Manager you will lead a team of 8 people who focus on a call time-critical solutions

  • Ensuring smooth and profitable operation of all import, export and domestic shipping and transport.
  • Learn and understand all roles within the operations office, including the company operating system to ensure that the correct decisions are made regarding operations.
  • Field all questions from staff and clients, make the relevant decision and, resolve problems and queries.
  • Liaise with accounts department to ensure timely invoicing of files.
  • Handle or pass on queries to the relevant staff member.
  • Control staff holidays ensuring coverage is maintained.
  • Receive, document and handle any staff complaints putting in place procedures to avoid repetition.
  • Liaise with Traffic team to ensure fleet is profitably utilized and legally controlled.
  • Liaise with sales team to ensure office staff compliance to sales requirements in order to win new business.
