Right Now Group are looking for a Van Driver to join our client that are a medium sized freight forwarder!The successful candidate will be an experienced Van Driver based at Heathrow and will assist with the smooth running of the transport department. The role includes short distance driving around the local area to collect / deliver to the respective airlinesat Heathrow Monday to Friday plus plenty of overtime available.Working days Monday - Friday.Working hours 09:00 - 17:30Main Purpose of Job:To be a key member of the driving team assisting with the smooth-running of thecompanies transport department.Compulsory checks:Due to the nature of the role there are a number of compulsory checks that must be carried out.

1. A criminal record check - basic disclosure (DBS) carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service.(NO criminal record essential)
2. 5-year reference history with gaps in employment scrutinised and accounted for. (stable employment/no gaps pref).

Driving licence check (Clean/max 3 points)Main Responsibilities:

1. Complete collection and delivery of freight in line with operating procedures.
2. Complete daily run sheet accurately and ensure the information is uploaded into the system.
3. Ensuring all goods are safely secured and paperwork is in order.
4. Adhere to Company security procedures at all times.
5. Keep allocated vehicle, clean at all times.
6. Perform a vehicle defect report on every company vehicle you use and hand the min.
7. Support transport and warehouse manager should they require assistance.
8. Support management to ensure we are meeting the client needs.
9. Report any issues in the transport department to your line manager.
10. Represent the company when on collections and deliveries by demonstrating high levels of customer service and a smart appearance.
11. Adhere to the site security and health and safety regulations and report any breaches to the Operations Director.
12. Undertake additional duties, or assist other members of staff, as may be reasonably requested by your Manager or the Directors
13. Check the freight is correct when loaded the van.
14. Check off all freight collected and hand over to transport when return from the run.
15. Liaise with various security companies when making deliveries/collections to certain stores/boutiques.
16. Park the vehicles in an acceptable manner at the end of the day.
17. Pack any freight to ensure it is suitable for either road freight or airfreight.
18. Scan the PODs as soon as delivery is made and upload accurate information.
19. Email or phone over accurate information once a collection has been made (seal numbers, dimensions and weight).

Knowledge, skills and experience required: Essential

1. Hold a full UK driving license
2. Have a good knowledge of the English language both verbal and written.
3. Able to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
4. Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
5. Be a team player in the transport team as well as working alongside other members of staff.
6. Sound knowledge of the outlook app and POD Scanning app of the smart phone supplied.
7. Smart/professional appearance.

Desirable

• Experience of delivering / collecting secure cargo from airlines / ground handlers.
• Knowledge of the handling sheds around LHR
