Job Description

Submarine Weapons Systems AnalystHelensburgh, ScotlandGood salary, benefits and full trainingWe are seeking a Trainee Analyst with an interest in a STEM related subject such as maths or physics. You will be working on analysing data from tests, trials, maintenance and modifications involving the Submarines which form the UKs Nuclear Deterrent.The successful candidate will join the business at an entry level and be provided with extensive specialist training and career development. This will be provided at a Royal Navy Base on the West Coast of Scotland and will include periods of detached dutyin Plymouth.Skills developed through specialist training will enable you to:

  • Work as a fully integrated member of the Waterfront Team; performing analysis of test results from submarine-based technical systems.
  • Witness performance related test procedures on board submarines and at shore facilities.
  • Perform technical analysis of contractor sea trials, which entail short periods away on board the platform, whilst it is at sea.
  • Produce comprehensive system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance.
  • Provide technical consultancy, advice and support to management, the Ministry of Defence, and other stakeholders to ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Assist the Waterfront Associate Manager and team in the production of presentations and technical reports in support of customer and stakeholder meetings.
  • Fulfil a predominantly desk based role with a requirement to travel within the UK and to the US to attend meetings, undertake training, and provide engineering analysis support.

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Software Suite.
You will have a HND/Degree from an accredited university / college with an analysis related discipline such as Mathematics/Statistics/Physics or related STEM discipline or equivalent experience / combined education.Desired skills, qualifications and experience:* An open mind and questioning attitude.
  • Experience of submarine related subsystems.
  • Industry/academic experience in a related analytical discipline.
  • Experience in a customer facing environment.
  • Microsoft Windows Administration or Microsoft Server Administration exposure.
  • Software programming/coding exposure.
