Job Description

External AdvertOperations CoordinatorHM Naval Base Clyde, Faslane (G84 8HL)Competitive Salary plus benefitsWe have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Coordinator to join our existing team to be based at our site HM Naval Base Clyde in Faslane. The key purpose of this role is to support the PMS Clyde operation through the Co-ordination of Operations Controland Admin team outputs.In direct support of the Operations Coordinator, the role will be directly accountable for the line management and direction of personnel within the Operations Department and will oversee the wider co-ordination and maintenance of records for afloat personneltraining, orientation and competency.Key accountabilities:

  • Develop and regularly review short to medium term plans to ensure proactive matching of resources to likely tasking in advance of generation of a rolling, 24-hour, immediate programme
  • To conduct regular reviews of Operations Control/Admin team outputs in order to
  • monitor and act to ensure targets are met, including maintenance of accurate data to underpin timely reports and returns
  • Line management of the Ops Controller and the Ops Administrator.
  • Responsible for the recording, tracking and reporting of operational tasking within a
  • recognised and approved system (the FLEET database) throughout the tasking cycle,
  • whilst monitoring and, if appropriate challenging, requested services against Schedule of Requirement (SoR) entitlements.
  • To liaise with the Vessel Superintendents and the Customer to co-ordinate maintenance downtime for vessels.
  • Recording of tasking data in support of Third-Party Income Generation (TPIG) to support invoicing and to liaise with Commercial Customers to ensure provision of the best possible services whilst de-conflicting the programme when required.
  • Co-ordinate provision of assets and SQEP personnel for out of port tasking.
  • To drive operational efficiency, assurance improvements and best practice across the
  • contract with reference to Operations Control/Admin team outputs.
  • Utilise both Customer and wider workforce feedback to enhance service delivery and to minimize risk to the business or the customer relationship.
  • Responsible for the delivery of operational activity across the Clyde element of the
  • contract, measured against agreed KPIs (the
  • Schedule of Requirement).
What youll need to do the role:
  • Educated to Diploma level, or with demonstratable evidence of equivalence through
  • operational planning/scheduling experience and achievement.
  • Evidenced experience of planning/programming in a complex and dynamic environment with delivery against challenging KPIs.
  • Has a drive for delivering a quality service, values positive customer feedback and
  • understands how to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates ability to network internally and externally and influence effectively when
  • formulating and refining plans
  • Demonstrates evidence of building successful peer stakeholder relationships
  • Good IT skills with ability to enter, process, and manipulate data across the full spectrum
  • of MS Office functions.
  • Shoreside role 48Hrs with OOH works with requirement to cover the Duty On call Manager role 1 week in 4 or as required for sickness/absence in a roster system. This is a OOH role MonThurs 16300800 daily and Fri 1630Mon 0800 all weekend.
