Marine Engineering Refrigeration FitterClydeREF: SF29669Salary: £ 31,164About the roleHere at Babcock International were looking to recruit a Marine Engineering Refrigeration Fitter.Youll be carrying out activities including planned and preventative maintenance, defect identification and repair on large scale industrial refrigeration and air conditioning units aboard submarines and surface ships berthed at HM Naval Base Clyde.You will create and maintain an environment which leads to safe working attitudes and practices, promoting the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies during projects ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out.Youll be working in a team of 10 carrying out various work packages on submarines and surface ships that include chilled water plants, fridges, freezers and air conditioning units.Working and communicating with multiple stakeholders to ensure delivery of all work packages.What do I need to do the roleYoull need previous experience gained in repairing and maintaining large scale refrigeration and air conditioning units, with a recognised Refrigeration Engineering or Mechanical apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ level 3 as a minimum and hold a F Gas qualification.You must be comfortable working in confined spaces and with heights, with experience of utilising Work to Risk, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work.Experience of working in a marine engineering environment would be an advantage.What else do I need to knowThe successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.About Babcock InternationalFor more than a century, Babcock, the Aerospace and Defence company, has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services.
