Job Description

2nd line Support EngineerSalary: £25,000 - £30,000Must be eligible for SC ClearanceLocation: Faslane, ScotlandThis is an exciting opportunity to join a global Defence Company. Due to organic growth, they are currently looking for a 2nd line Support Engineer. This role will be responsible for the 1st and 2nd line supporting the services that combine to ensure the smooth operation of the remote working solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a service desk, supporting windows server, windows 10 devices, VMware support, and knowledge of networking principles.

  • Experience of using Service Desk call logging software to log, monitor, update and resolve customer problems & incidents in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Experience of Windows 10 Desktop support and maintenance
  • The role will also be required to conduct the following duties:
  • Liaise with team members and escalate tickets to senior engineers where appropriate
  • Experience of Deploying/Maintaining remote infrastructure and devices
  • Maintain and updates asset registers & knowledge bases
  • Utilize, maintain and create where appropriate, documentation for all IT systems and functions
  • Undertake daily system checks to ensure IT system availability
  • Install system patches as required
  • Experience of VMWare support and maintenance
  • Experience of VPN/networking support and maintenance
  • Ability to develop strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
