Job Description

Test Engineer – Competitive Salary – Farnham, SurreyThe RoleWould you welcome the chance to develop your skills at a world-class engineering team at the leading global supplier of passive and active tags An opportunity has risen for a Test Engineer to execute product performance test plans, issue test reports, and organise the building of test samples.The successful candidate will join a dynamic environment which develops state of the art active and passive tags that are regarded as one of the best by industry leaders.The key responsibilities of a Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out Hardware and Software testing of Active IOT (BLE, LoRa) devices and components against test plans.
  • Carrying out mechanical and environmental and RF testing of RFID tags and IOT systems, and setting up environmental test equipment in accordance with the environmental test plans (training provided).
  • Executing test plans and issuing test reports to validate product performance and fault finding.

Currently, the company is expanding its product offering to include range of new Active products using BLE and LoRa technologies.The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Test Engineer:
  • HND or Equivalent qualification in Engineering subject.
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience working as part of a development team with responsibilities in rapid prototype building of electronic products, including the test and measurement of same products to in-house and externally recognised standards.
  • Experience in the testing and fault finding of electronic circuits, performing Hardware and RF Test and Measurement of the Wireless devices, loading firmware into embedded software systems and setting up firmware testing of said products.
  • Experience in using rapid prototype equipment – 3D printers, an advantage.
  • Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail, communication and presentation skills.
