Job Description

We are a prestigious school based in Farnham who due to growth we are now seeking an additional two School Cleaners to join our friendly team. Working hours are Monday to Friday and you will be working both term time and during school holidays. You willbe working as part of a team of 7 as part of our Facilities, Caretaking and Building Maintenance team across our large site. You will be responsible for the general cleaning of the school including dormitories, washrooms, WC facilities, windows, vehicles,equipment and administration areas.The role would suit candidates with previous experience in a similar cleaning, housekeeping or facilities role but this is not essential as we are happy to consider applications from those candidates who simply enjoy a hands on role as we can provide fulltraining. We can offer a competitive salaryof up to £27,600k plus free parking, free lunches, sick pay, Employee Assistance Programme, free use of fitness and gym facilities, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and staff pension.The team are responsible for the cleaning of the school premises to a very high standard including school equipment, vehicles and furnishings to ensure a high standard of maintenance throughout the school and assist with maintenance projects during schoolholidays.The main duties will be:-The general cleaning of the school including dormitories, washrooms, WC facilities, vehicles, equipment, windows and administration areas.Carrying out minor maintenance work during term-timeThe repair of furnishings and equipment as required.To assist with larger maintenance projects during the designated school’s holidays.General upkeep of the School’s fleet of transport and associated tasks.Adherence to all Health & Safety working practices, including school procedures and policies on the storage of hazardous materials and chemicals.The upkeep and cleanliness of the school’s cleaning machines and equipment.The distribution of paper products around the school for hygiene purposes.The successful candidate will be able to show evidence of a diligent work ethos and have a sound and flexible approach to the tasks required of them; we are looking for a good team player. The successful applicant will have a happy and flexible dispositionwith a caring and patient attitude towards others. You will have good communication skills and be vigilant and detailed in their approach. You may have previously worked as a Cleaner, Facilities, Housekeeping or general maintenance person and now be seekinga new role within a friendly and professional team working within a pleasant working environment. However, we would also consider candidates who don’t have similar previous experience but who are keen to secure a hands on based role.
