We are a prestigious school based just outside of Farnham who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic IT Network Manager, or ambitious IT Technician looking to progress their career to assist with a comprehensive plan of change and development to theschools network under the direction and support of the Head of IT Services.The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the schools computer network, ensuring that the appropriate service levels are maintained and that the schools systems are reliable and dependable for all its stakeholders. Inreturn we can offer a salary range of £32,000 and £36,000, depending on experience, Monday to Friday working hours, 8 hours per day (arranged between 8:00am and 6:00pm) along with Pension, sick-pay, employee assistance programme, free on-site parking andexcellent lunchtime meals at no cost in the Schools refectory.A comprehensive induction programme is offered, and ongoing professional development supported through INSET days and training opportunities, including for nationally-accredited qualifications.This position would suit an IT professional with outstanding people skills, who is able to talk professionally with all members of staff and students and explain complex technical issues in non-technical terms.Further Responsibilities: Perform advanced diagnosis procedures on computers, peripherals, photocopiers and applications. Advise on compatibility of hardware, applications and operating systems, according to user requirements. Manage active network components including but not limited to; switches, routers and wireless; install additional servers and upgrade the network operating systems; maintain Internet filtering and firewall systems. Manage remote access to the schools network. Assess risks and develop recovery procedures for key IT systems (including but not limited to Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan); identify improvements to systems and suggest solutions. Keep up to date with current security risks and work proactively to mitigate reasonably practicable measures. Interpret detailed diagnostic information; monitor and manage server logs and use them to inform developments and support procedures; produce reports from support logs to provide basic management information on the volume and nature of requests. Prioritise resolution of problems and determine whether external support is required; allocate tasks between support colleagues, including recording requests, following up calls and implementing maintenance schedules. Liaise with numerous external support partners. Undertake risk assessments; implement and make modifications to relevant H&S procedures. Advise other staff of H&S aspects of proposed developments.By nature of the schools users, no two days are the same and the post holder will be expected to adapt to the unknown with a flexible approach supporting the ethos of the IT Services team and the school.The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to perform such other duties as may be, from time to time, deemed necessary by the Headmaster.To be successful you should have the following:Technical qualifications in a discipline relevant to the demands of the role.Experience within an education setting or 200+ user organisationExcellent IT skills, particularly the use of Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policies, Microsoft (Office) 365, Hyper-V/VMWare and IP networking.Able to effectively prioritise and assess impact and scale of problems and tasks, tackling them in a methodical manner.Excellent problem-solving skills, including software and hardwareMaintain accurate documentation and update existing internal databases through front end interfaces with accurate information.In return we can offer the chance to progress your career within IT, excellent benefits, salary up to £36k plus free parking when on site.Please submit your CV for immediate consideration
