Job Description

Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for something a bit different Were passionate about helping self-employed people with their finances and making sure they get everything theyre entitled to, which includes processing their Tax submissions and getting them registered for VAT to support them with current and historic VAT rebates.Were looking for someone to join our Client Finance team on a contract basis for 12 months to cover for an internal secondment. This team is responsible for managing all our client accounts: managing balances, payments of rebates, collection of client fees, and payments to HMRC.What will you doAs the Finance Analyst, youll be responsible for working through a monthly schedule of activities, acting as first point of call for individuals within the small team who need advice or support with identified issues, conducting root cause analysis where issues are found, and coaching the team in how to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

  • Oversee the daily bank balance updates to ensure reconciliations are accurately maintained on a daily basis and that all payment runs are checked, authorised, and uploaded to the bank in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all fees are invoiced within the allotted timescale and all monies recovered
  • Cash-flow management and forecasting.
  • Act as point of contact for financial accounting and reporting advice within the wider finance team.

At the moment we are primarily working remotely, however, there may be a requirement for this role to be office based for part of the week to ensure effective training and handover. Please submit a covering letter with your application to outline what you would bring to this role and why you feel you are suitable.Essential SkillsThis is a very hands-on role, dealing with high volumes of data. Youll need to be highly analytical with a solid understanding of UK accountancy and tax rules, particularly self-assessment Tax and VAT (including FRS). Youll be at least part qualified in CIMA (formally or by experience) and will have a proven background in a management accounting role. Prior experience in coaching and mentoring individuals would be highly advantageous.The internal secondment that this role is required to replace, is focusing on the creation and build of a new financial module within our bespoke and custom-built business management software. This role will be a vital part in the implementation of this new system within the team, so the ability to demonstrate a capability and adaptability for this will be hugely advantageous, particularly any involvement with reviewing and testing new IT developments to ensure fit for purpose.About UsWere leading the way in self-employed financial services.
