Job Description

Who we areWorking with government agencies and hospitals, our software provides the data and insight for better healthcare decisions. We help deliver health screening programmes across the UK and Ireland, support the world’s biggest orthopaedic registry and digitise millions of patient records each year.Our screeners are at the heart of NPS Care, spending their time on the ground, helping our patients to live longer healthier lives. As one of our screeners you`ll run local clinics to see our patients and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy.We`ll need you to be empathetic and able to talk to patients about their images on a daily basis. In this role, you`ll be supported whilst undertaking your training, but once that`s completed will be working largely unsupervised in a pressured environment, so a cool head is essential! All in all, we want you to be customer and people focused, caring about our patients and being passionate about delivering an exceptional service at all times.We have 15 different clinic locations, with this role being based mainly in East and Central Surrey although on occasion you may be asked to cover a clinic in other parts of the county. Where possible, we`ll try and keep you in clinics close to where you live, however there will be the need for you to travel further afield, so a full UK driving licence, your own transport and flexibility are essential.Our teamWorking with other screeners, you`ll be mentored and supported by our screener/graders and team leaders, to ensure you understand and learn everything you need to deliver an exceptional service to our patients.Who you`ll beWe want to make sure you are set for success; This isn`t all about your skills and that is why we would love to talk to you even if perhaps you don`t fit all of the below.

  • any previous experience working with the public is ideal
  • minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths and a Science subject or equivalent
  • a full driving licence and your own transport (clinic times can vary and early morning collection of equipment is occasionally involved in the role, which cannot always be facilitated with local public transport)
