We are actively seeking a Commodity Broker on behalf of a small international physical agricultural commodity broking company situated in Farnham, Surrey. Our client acts more as an introducing broker than an interdealer broker. This role is ideal for aconfident outgoing individual who has a fine attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in an environment which can be pressurized and seeks a considerable amount of responsibility from an early stage. The opportunity will suit a self motivated individualwho can communicate up to board level complex ideas verbally and in writing to those clients whos first language may not be English. This is an excellent international client facing role, it will therefore be necessary on some occasions to travel at shortnotice or work the hours that are required by their international clients and change with market activity. You will work directly with the Senior Brokers and in return will receive support and development from the Management Team.9am - 18:00hrs Monday - Friday Parking ProvidedDuring your first year you will gain an initial understanding of the business and build the foundation of your knowledge, covering:· Gain an initial understanding of the business and build the foundation of your knowledge, covering:Ø Contract terms, trade and shipping terms and documentation.Ø Understanding of the commodity, origins, markets and trade flows.Ø NegotiationØ Contract execution, OperationsØ Dispute resolution· Shadow brokers and their interaction with clients.· Start broking under the supervision of senior brokers.· Collate, analyse and report information to assist with the business.· Developing new leads and initiate contact with new clients.· Perform analysis on market sectors for management.Qualifications:· Bachelors Degree (not required but other experience instead)· Strong IT knowledge· Required: GCSEs in English language and MathematicsUseful knowledge :- International Current Affairs and Regional GeographyAn understanding of Economics.Languages advantageous : Mandarin, Spanish, French, Arabic.
