Our IT department currently supports around 140 users, previously all on one site but predominantly remote for the time-being. Due to the recent changes to our infrastructure and a new project to migrate all our existing servers to a private cloud, were now looking to welcome a Network Engineer to our current team of two.Youll be responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of our server environment and issues; installing, upgrading, supporting and troubleshooting any hosted applications, designing system configuration, directing system installation, and enforcing network standards. Working as part of our small team, youll be comfortable supporting with helpdesk tickets as required or when escalated, liaising with people across the business and at all levels, in addition to working on scheduled out-of-office hours tasks, or those odd occasions where something goes down after hours. Additional Information At the moment were primarily working remotely. There is the potential for this to continue in the long-term for this position, however there will be a need to attend the office on a weekly basis and ad-hoc based on support needs. Essential Skills Youll have good understanding of (and experience with) firewalls, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Active Directory and Group Policy, and will have proven hands-on experience with SANs and switch configuration.Good experience with Windows Server 2012/16+ and Windows 7/10 is a must, as is experience with VMWare (although VCP would be highly beneficial.Aside from the technical requirements, youll be equally comfortable working with people as you will be systems. With a background in helpdesk support, youll have the ability to easily translate technical jargon into laymans terms.
