Job Description

A leading engineering company producing polymer products has a newly created role for a Sales Engineer to join their team working Monday-Friday based in their offices near Preston with travel required covering the whole of the UK! A really fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of growth for this well established organisation! The Sales Engineer position is a permanent role working MondayFriday 8am-4.30pm/ 9am-5.30pm although the company are flexible on this to offer work/life balance! They are offering a salary of approx £30,000 per annum with the potential of a bonus scheme in the future once you have grown into the role!As Sales Engineer, you will report directly to the Sales & Marketing Manager to grow sales from both new and existing business. Your duties will include:

  • Work closely with the business development and support teams daily
  • Use technical/ manufacturing knowledge to interpret client requirements
  • Research potential new clients, identifying key decision makers
  • Executing outbound activities to win new business
  • Attend meetings/ presentations across the UK to develop new business
  • Working with existing clients to support and identify opportunities for growth
  • Dealing with incoming enquiries and answering clients technical questions with the support of the engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Attend exhibitions in the UK and abroad
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience as a Sales Engineer or similar
  • A background in engineering, production or manufacturing, with the desire to grow within sales
  • Ability to sell technical products into any of the following industries: pharma, food, oil & gas, nuclear, aerospace
  • A methodical approach to researching new companies and industries
  • Strong IT skills in Outlook and Excel in particular, CRM experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances
  • Experience in polymers would be advantageous
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with senior colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications required:
  • Full UK driving licensepool car available/ mileage paid
  • A technical/engineering qualification or degree advantageous but not essential
