Job Description

We have three behaviorsthat are central to how we operate as a team and a business: we step up, we tune in and were a force for good.The TeamWe have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Telephone Account Manager to join our Workplace Investing National and Retail Sales team. Reporting to the Head of Workplace Sales Retail Channel.The RoleThe successful candidate will work with the Head of Workplace Sales Retail Channel, to support the distribution of our workplace solutions to key intermediaries and corporate advisers throughout the UK. They will work closely with Retail Sales (Partnerships& Area Sales divisions) and be responsible for key account relationships, new business flows and offer broader support to a wide range of other identified corporate adviser firms.Key responsibilities

  • Developing & working with Regional Account Manages to build strong and profitable business relationships with Key corporate adviser firms
  • Delivery of financial objectives for each key adviser relationship by proactively planning and delivering business development initiatives to further strengthen adviser relationships and create opportunities to do business with Aegon
  • Coordinating, facilitating and helping to win provider selection exercises, through various approaches such as tender requests, site visits, team meetings and beauty parades
  • Helping to develop the workplace solutions proposition through constructive input to proposition development
  • Work closely with the account management & implementation teams to ensure consistency of service and retention of schemes.
  • Have a good understanding of the workplace market & competitor propositions, so they are able to coach & mentor the less experienced regional account managers.
Planning & Reporting
  • Utilise salesforce.com functionality to help plan day to day activity in level with agreed contact strategy
  • Provide weekly narrative to Head of Workplace on key enquiries, competitor intel and market sentiment
  • Pipeline management using the purpose built dashboards for Retail Workplace
  • Chair monthly internal meetings with identified key accounts and relevant stakeholders
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Planning & organising own workload in a systematic manner / high activity
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to negotiate / influence
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of the Corporate Pensions Market (Trust & contract)
  • A solid understanding of Aegons background, products, systems and services
  • Ability to take ownerships of problems and see through to resolution
  • Proven sales / customer service record
  • Telephone sales experience is desirable
  • Diploma or relevant industry qualifications is desirable
  • Ability to build internal & external relationships, forming strong alliances which benefit Aegon
