Job Description

An experienced Tax Assistant is needed to join a highly successful and well-regarded accountancy practice in their Exeter office. This is an opportunity for an ambitious Tax Assistant looking to work within a very welcoming team in a forward-thinking firm.The Role:This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with experience of corporation tax calculations experience to develop your career within this fantastic company. You will be assisting with corporation tax compliance, tax planning, project work and assisting the Corporate Services Department.Duties will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax returns.
  • Liaising with clients via the phone and written correspondence regarding their tax affairs.
  • Assisting the Corporate Tax Manager with tax consultancy work, focused on corporates and OMBs.
  • Assisting with tax advice, planning and deal support on corporate finance transactions.
  • Company secretarial work and administration, to ensure statutory books are up to date and relevant paperwork is prepared and submitted.
  • Supporting with HMRC tax enquiries.
  • Involvement in ad hoc projects.

  • You will enjoy the challenge of working with a large variety of clients and the varied types of work those clients bring. You will be someone who wants to make a difference to the firm’s clients and to be part of the team.
  • An effective communicator you will be comfortable liaising with colleagues and clients.
  • IT literate with experience using Excel and accounting packages.
  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice or a specialist tax role is essential.
  • AAT or ATT part qualified or full qualification, with a desire to undertake further studies (ACA, ACCA or CTA).
