Job Description

Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in constructionAre you comfortable with leading a teamHave you been involved in the successful delivery of mixed tenure and contact housing projectsA new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Estimator to join a reputable construction business based in Exeter. Reporting to the head of department, you will lead the Pre-Construction team, working across two areas within the business: estimating contracts and projects during pre-contract/tender stage. Snap shot of duties:

  • You will be responsible for all financial, technical, and contractual risks of projects.
  • Measuring for take offs and producing bill of quantities.
  • Responsible for the production of tender submission documents whilst taking full commercial responsibility.
  • Attending pre-tender and post tender interviews with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Responsible for providing estimates and calculating robust cost appraisals of sites.
  • Supporting the bid team and tenders
  • Involved in the process from start to finish.
Experience and attributes required:
  • You will have a proven background in construction, preferably mixed tenure/contract housebuilding.
  • Ideally you will hold a relevant construction related degree/HNC or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working as an estimator (team management experience would be advantageous)
  • Experience of delivering JCT and D&B projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organised and methodical in your working approach
  • Eye for detail
  • Able to work and deliver to deadlines.
