Job Description

SHEQ ADVISORTHAMES DITTON£30,000About the roleThe SHEQ Advisor is responsible in the development of the strategy supporting the SHEQ function within the business in conjunction with the SHEQ Manager. Main responsibilities

  • Support the SHEQ Manager in the continuous improvement of the SHEQ Programme relating to H&S standards across the company - meeting 18001 standards, Environmental /sustainability standards - meeting ISO 14001 standards, quality management systems - meeting ISO 9001 standards
  • Support the SHEQ Manager in developing quarterly communications for all sites and levels of staff
  • Advise line management and assist with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ relating legislation, rules and company standards, including fire prevention, health and safety awareness training and site inspections
  • Support the SHEQ Manager to produce and deliver strategic plans for SHEQ performance
  • As required, assist in the investigation and management of incidents providing advice on root causes and best preventative measures
  • Provide SHEQ information for tenders
  • Ensure corporate SHEQ IT systems are in place and kept up to date in a timely fashion
  • Maintain external health surveillance checks for technical staff and maintain records
  • Ensure risk assessments and resulting actions are completed as per schedules
  • Ensure all environmental permits and licences are kept up to date and are compliance verified
  • Ensure all environmental documentation - such as waste management transfer notes are retained and retrievable.
  • Candidate requirements
  • Previous SHEQ experience
  • Good IT skills - able to use SHEQ systems
  • Good communication skills
  • Works well in a team as well on own initiative
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure
