Job Description

Summary We need someone with experience in the delivery of engaging content across a number of channels from print to digital and you will need to be confident in advising colleagues across all of our sites on brand, marketing and communications. Youll also havean eye for detail for a good story, with the skills and contacts to turn them into media opportunities.The location: This role is based at Claremont with one day a week spent at Morden House and Park.Contract: This role is a 12 month fixed term contractHours: This is a full time role 37.5 hours a week What its like to work here Steeped in nearly 300 years of history, this eighteenth-century garden is a green oasis in the heart of Surrey within easy reach of London. Previously the countryside retreat of queens and heirs, Claremont has always been somewhere to escape everyday lifeand enjoy simple outdoor pleasures.Many of the great names in landscape design history played a part in the creation of the estate. Over the years Sir John Vanbrugh, Charles Bridgeman, William Kent and Capability Brown all put their own distinctive stamp on the pleasure grounds, and in1866 Queen Victoria herself acquired the estate to save it from development.Today there are still many unique and unexpected features to discover, including the large turf amphitheatre, serpentine lake, grotto, Camellia Terrace and Belvedere Tower. What youll be doing Youll lead the development and delivery of the Marketing and Communications plan for your portfolios to achieve its business objectives and connect people with the work of the Trust as a conservation charity. Youll work with the propertyteams and wider consultancy to promote the propertys programming, volunteering and participation, restoration work, fundraising, commercial operations and wider offer to name a few. Youll be the key driver for communications with visitors, the wider community, as well as internal communications. The role will suit a media-savvy, creative individual with experience in a press and public relations or digital marketing environment andinterest in history, gardens and the outdoors.Please read the role profile attached for more information Who were looking for Were looking for someone with:

  • Practical experience in a marketing and/or communications role.
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing and communications plans
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation; marketing codes, data protection, copyright and model release.
  • A proven track record in creating, using and editing content in different channels (web, social media, PR, email).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to spot potential risks to reputation and escalate them accordingly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to influence, advise and negotiate at all levels within the organisation and with external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills being able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and deadlines.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of online presence and ways to promote visits to our website and social media channels.
  • Experience of managing volunteers.
