Job Description

The starting salary for this role is £35,673 per annum based on a 21.60 hour working week, pro-rata to £59,456 full-time equivalent. Our teams are well established using developed consultation approaches and psychologicalinterventions founded on evidence-based practice in education and community settings. We utilise research and service evaluations for developing innovative practice and quality assurance.We value and invest in our staff through comprehensive training and regular supervision. To us its simple; the more trained and developed our staff, the better the outcomes for the children we support. As such, we are also committed to the development ofexpertise in the following areas:

  • Whole school and targeted approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health working with Mental Health Support Teams
  • Looked After Children and post adoption support
  • Specialist Early Education Service
  • Supervision of Trainee EPs
  • Assessment and consultation using the Analysis of Additional Needs Tool
  • Emotionally based school avoidance
The EPS is regarded as key within our Inclusion and Additional Needs Service. We are very proud of feedback from our stakeholders, namely children, young people, parents and schools, which has indicated high levels of impact and satisfaction with regardsto childrens inclusion, academic attainment, person centred assessments and social emotional and mental well-being.Surrey is a large and diverse county and we have a strong commitment to inclusive practice.As a Senior Educational Psychologist with Surrey you will:
  • Work with the educational psychology leadership team to further develop our forward thinking, highly regarded Educational Psychology Service
  • Provide professional leadership, support and supervision to an area team using a strengths based approach which values individual and collective contributions to improving inclusive outcomes for children
  • Provide effective management to an area based team including the recruitment, deployment, and performance management of educational psychologists
  • Take the county wide lead for an area of work e.g. consultation and coaching, continuous professional development
  • Work collaboratively with other Inclusion and Additional Needs Service Managers to improve the lives of all children and young people

  • Psychology degree (or BPS equivalent), professional qualification in Educational Psychology (doctorate, masters or equivalent) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified EP
  • Evidence of providing high quality supervision
  • Your ability to travel around the county to meet the requirements of the role
  • A commitment to personal development and child focused out comes
