Job Description

Manpower is currently looking for a talented and professional Sous Chef to join one client who is situated in a glorious parkland about six miles south of York, easily accessible from York, Selby, Hull and much of the surrounding areas. FULL TIME - SOUS CHEF - PERMANENT CONTRACT - ESCRICK YO19 HOURS - 40 hrs per week, full year (52 week) basis. SALARY - 29K plus benefits and lots of time off Your responsibility as a Sous Chef is primarily (but not exclusively) to prepare quality food for the students and also at the various functions they hold for parents, staff and other visitors to the school.As Sous Chef you will be one of the key members of the catering department, overseeing the work of the kitchen porters and liaising with the food service staff. You will deal with all aspects of preparing the food and will be responsible for maintaininghigh standards in the kitchen. You will be the senior member of staff present in the kitchen during your shift and will deputise for the Chef Manager as needed.Flexibility with regards to working hours is required.Actual hours of work will be on a rota basis between 06:30 till 2.30 and 12.00 - 20:00, five days out of seven, including weekends. 8 hours shift duration, no split shifts.
