Job Description

The purpose of this role is to provide facilities support across the whole site and grounds. The role will be responsible for carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks, fabric maintenance tasks, business support tasks, grounds maintenance tasks andwill report to and support the facilities supervisor in the assistance in the delivery of planned, reactive and ad hoc maintenance tasks.Key Accountabilities (Not Exhaustive)

  • Weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (facilities plumbing checks/basic repairs, grounds maint/gardening, PPM recording, etc.)
  • Monthly utilities inspections
  • First line response to reactive repairs
  • Relamping as required
  • Minor building fabric repairs
  • Minor decorating tasks
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Supporting external contractors as required
  • ADHOC porterage duties (Moves & changes, furniture management & moves, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned inspections
  • Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
  • Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the appropriate manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience of working in a facilities environment
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment
  • Have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management
  • A team player but able to work under own initiative and able to escalate matters out of own limitations
  • A desire to develop and undertake training as and when required
  • Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional/remedial works
  • Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
  • Must hold a full UK drivers license
  • Ability to record work accurately on work sheets
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  • Wanting to achieve success, for his or her self, the business and the customer
  • Flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive)
  • Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued
  • Responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments
