Job Description

Logistics Despatch CoordinatorAn excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in warehouse logistics, stocking and loads to join a manufacturing leader who supply their products globally based at a modern facility in Elton, Cheshire.Full training can be provided though for this role however wed love an individual with excellent experience of logistics within a busy, fast paced manufacturing environment.Initial Fixed term contract until March 2022. Shift Pattern rotaQualities we look for;

  • Competent computer skills (MS Office, AS400 / Autostore/SAP).

  • Previous experience in a warehouse distribution centre.
  • Experience working with an automated warehouse management system would be an advantage.
  • Production improvement working experience.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding to be able to answer team members questions and doubts. Understanding of site processes is desirable.

  • Proactively assists other areas as necessary
  • Responsible for day-to-day decisions around transport and collection timings.
  • Ensure that all tasks within the department are completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Engage staff around all activities within the Despatch department.
  • Maintain and update delivery schedule supplied by planning office/Hauliers
  • Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection times are met.
  • Ensure workflow is prioritised based on order times.
  • Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Create and run internal transfers for resort area and QA requests.
  • Replace and report all non-conformance pallets that come out as good pallets.
  • Collate daily statistics for Shift Manager
  • Liaise with Planning/Sales Departments regarding all incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Ensure an excellent customer service, advising customers of possible late loads and also organising extra loads if required.
  • Support of other Admin functions within the Logistics Team
  • Communicating issues to the Chargehand and Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
  • Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
  • Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
  • Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play
