Head of Financial Reporting 6m FTC, South East London - Up to £68,000, hybridA key leadership role has become available at a respected university for 6 months whilst they look for a permanent replacement. The role will be looking after a team of 4, whilst leading on statutory accounts, financial reporting, compliance, and audit at acrucial time of year. You will be a qualified accountant, ideally with an audit background, with significant experience at a senior level in technical accounting. We will be moving quickly with this process and will be looking for candidates with short noticeperiods. Please let us know ifwe can make any reasonable adjustments for you at any stage in the process.Your Role* Responsible for treasury management, VAT and month end processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information and production of high quality and robust financial statements* Responsible for supporting all operational accounting and financial controls, including transactional business processes, related finance systems and operational ownership of the financial regulations* Principle contact for the external audit* Planning, coordinating, and organising the work of the FRC team with an emphasis on quality processes and outcomes* Providing proactive advice to senior managers on key risks and financial outcomes at project, business unit and corporate levels* Deputising for the Financial Controller* Business owner of the ERP system and overseeing ongoing development and enhancements along with identifying and overseeing process improvement across the wider Finance Controller team* Providing financial reporting advice and modelling the impact of changes to help in the decision-making process* Development and ownership of the Chart of Accounts* Ways of working and key deliverables agreed with partners / customersYour Skills & Qualifications: * Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with significant post qualified experience* Higher education experience is desirable* Experience leading a team will be necessary for this post* Plenty of technical accounting knowledge* Ability to develop and mentor team members and ensure quality reporting is provided accurately and timelyCompany Benefits* Flexible working* Generous pension package - up to 25% total* Generous annual leave* Reasonable accommodations for disabled and neurodiverse candidatesAt Trace, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace and believe that, in any business, it is imperative that all members of staff feel appreciated and respected in their roles.
