Job Description

Adecco Chester are proudly recruiting for a Trainee Credit Controller to work within the Finance department of our well-established client, based in Ellesmere Port area.A superb opportunity for someone who is passionate to begin a career in Finance, and to join an exciting sector and a welcoming team within a friendly office environment.Prior knowledge and understanding of finance in business would be excellent, however this role provides full training. You will need to enjoy speaking with customers over the phone though, as this role requires lots of customer interaction and relationshipbuilding!Working hours: The position is permanent and full-time, 40 hrs, Mon-Fri, typical working hours 08: 30-17:00, however flexitime is offered. Work from home on a Monday and Friday!Benefits: Great holiday package, 25 days + 8 bank holidays, and your birthdays off! Dedicated training and support. Reward schemes, healthcare plan including 24hr access to advice, pension and life insurance schemes, wellbeing benefits,free on-site parking.Salary: £21,675 - £23,000 p/a dependant on experienceYou will be trained to support in the following:

  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner for each debtor book.
  • To create and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Set and agree credit limits and payment terms for new and existing accounts using online credit checking facility.
  • Assist manager in the maintenance and reviewal of existing credit limits and terms.
  • Release orders on hold in a minimum timescale, ensuring credit approved.
  • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales, agreeing payment terms in consultation with line manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity and updating CRM database.
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avoid debt.
Key skills for this role include:
  • A desire and determination to begin your career in Finance!
  • Confidence in communication with customers - prior customer service experience would be preferred.
  • Brilliant communication, listening and inter-personal skills.
  • A knowledge or understanding of Finance functions.
  • Prior experience within Finance is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Any formal qualifications in Finance/Accounting are advantageous.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Packages, Excel in particular.
  • Any prior use of software such as SAGE is beneficial, however full training will be given.
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player.
