We invest in our employees for the long term and we are committed to supporting your development within the company.Job DescriptionAs an Electrical Oil Diagnostician, you’ll be responsible for delivering consistently high standards of analytical performance whilst ensuring the laboratory meets ISO 17025 requirements (accredited by UKAS). You will also ensure samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements.Key Accountabilities;

  • Provide interpretation (diagnosis) of laboratory data utilising appropriate systems in accordance with international standards, business and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate compliance with international and company approved test methods, procedures and quality systems. Essential criteria for ISO 17025 accreditation and adherence to SGS Laboratory Quality Systems.
  • Attend client operational review meetings accompanying/supporting lab manager to develop and enhance client confidence and relationships.
  • Delivery of agreed analysis to timescales and cost to enable fulfillment of contractual KPI’s and maximise profitability.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of international standards, laboratory and analytical techniques/ equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to clients.
  • Resolution of client queries in a timely and effective manner to ensure consistency of service delivery and agreed contractual obligations.
  • Responsible for maintenance of laboratory QA records e.g. SQC, equipment registers, calibration certificates to assure operational integrity within applicable department.
  • QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in testing/diagnosis within the transformer oil industry, with experience of operating to defined laboratory methods, processes and documentation.In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following;
  • Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject or equivalent.
  • Full, current, valid UK driving licence.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of testing and diagnosis within the transformer oil
  • The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential;
  • An appreciation and understanding of the used lubricant industry.
  • Experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory
  • Condition Monitoring Qualification, e.g. Noria Oil Analysis I and II
