Job Description

Are you interested in continuing your HR career in a fast paced, exciting engineering and manufacturing business Have you come from an administration background where your CIPD qualification is actively encouraged Would you like to work for a market leading, global engineering business supplying solutions to some of the world’s largest manufacturing companies This is a great opportunity to learn and undertake a wide variety of HR related tasks in a fast-paced environment.Our Client:With a UK Head Office, the business has been trading for over 100 years and has a turnover approaching £60m with over 20 global sites situated globally. The company focuses on engineered equipment supplying every major sector growing organically year on year to become a true market leader.Role:This varied role will see you working directly with and supporting the HR Manager across a wide variety of HR related tasks. You will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the HR function across the UK. Once you have settled in and are used to the processes and procedures this role will allow you to take full ownership of important HR related projects which will allow you to deliver an exceptional level of services to the business.Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support with first stage investigations as part of the Company disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Support line managers with new starter probationary reviews
  • Coordinate recruitment activities between line managers and approved recruitment partners on both temporary and permanent requirements
  • Supporting on first stage candidate interviews
  • Coordination of annual apprenticeship recruitment including liaison with the approved apprenticeship college, CV selection and interviews
  • Liaison with line managers on job descriptions and management of internal adverts and applications
  • Process the monthly payroll for circa 300 employees.
  • Produce weekly reports on employee flexible working participation and raise any issues/misuse with line managers
  • Support employees and managers with payroll queries
  • Produce monthly payroll reports e.g. pension contribution reports
  • Produce monthly finance reports on employee working hours, holidays and sickness
  • Administrator of the pension scheme (new starters enrolled online, opt out reports generated, auto-enrolment of eligible employees)
  • Manage the Company Childcare Voucher and Cycle to Work schemes
  • Approving registrations for the Company benefits forum (Everyone Benefits)
  • Manage the T&A System (adding new starters, amending shift patterns, creating holiday years’, assigning default holidays, employee holiday queries and manager support)
  • Ensure the HR SAP system is up to date with new starter / leaver / change details
  • Create new starter contracts and document packs
  • Request references for new starters and provide references for ex-employees
  • Arrange and deliver new starter HR inductions
  • Approve invoices for temporary workers, hire cars, stationary and occupational health referrals
  • Assisting in Company payroll and Quality audits
  • What we are looking for:
  • Experience in a similar HR or Payroll position
  • HR qualification preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Assertive when required
  • Good Excel skills
