Bailey Employment Services Ltd are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Executive for their UK based client for a permanent positionPurpose: You will be responsible for driving excellence across the organisation in developing standardised EHS programs & expectations. Working closely with a cross functional operations team to actively promote & support a positive EHSculture & continuous improvement programme. This is a hands-on, operations-based role supporting the organisation through a period of change. The business has a goal to achieve ISO45001 in the next 12 months.Responsibilities/Key Deliverables:

• Provide advice, support & coaching to sites & deal with day-to-day EHS related operational issues
• Provide regular management updates & departmental briefings
• Take accountability for ensuring the sites EHS management systems are up to date & compliant with legislation & company standard to support the implementation & delivery of SMART objectives
• Develop Risk Assessment evaluations & Safe Working Procedures
• Support specialist safety programs & activities including ergonomic analysis & hazard studies
• Lead the site safety training programme, contributing to the development & delivery of training on operational EHS issues, needs analysis. Reporting & driving KPIs
• Lead on achieving ISO 45001 site certification
• Work with the operations team to support continuous improvement
• Undertake regular workplace inspections, Safe Working Procedure audits & behavioural observations to ensure correct practices are adhered to
• Lead & carry out the investigation of accidents, incidents & dangerous occurrences using 5 Whys & 8-step problem solving techniques
• Undertake a critical role in change management projects to ensure safe execution of all change & risk reduction is included in all project development plans
• Track, manage & report on your EHS programs
• Identify & assess training requirements & ensure all employees are sufficiently trained in EHS matters
• Verify, track & supervise contractors activities
• Cross site ownership & compliance process for ISO14001 & the Environmental Management System ensuring all elements, inclusive of the auditing process
• Provide support to the International Safety Lead for the business, as required

Requirements:

• A self-starter, with 5 years EHS management experience, who can identify & articulate value add opportunities to site leadership, peers & other stakeholders
• A confident & articulate communicator who can listen to & understand peoples needs & adapt their coaching style to reflect these differences
• Training & coaching experience is essential
• NEBOSH qualified with practical safety management experience within a practical setting
• Recent working knowledge of ISO14001 & ISO45001, with lead auditor experience
• Ability to communicate with staff & colleagues in a friendly small business environment with the ability to communicate & deliver at a corporate level to group leaders, positively influencing behaviours
• A working knowledge of LEAN tools, 5s & project management is an advantage
• Excellent IT competence, including MS applications & software management systems
• Full UK driving license

Hours of work-40 hours/week, 08:00/08:30 - 16:00/16:30 Monday to Friday, NegotiableLocation-Based in Elland-Leeds, Monthly visits to the Harrogate office & bi-annually to the London showroom with some Hybrid workingSalary-£40000-£42000 negotiable subject to experience & hours of work
