Job Description

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are working with a leading partner in the engineering and manufacturing market, based in Elland, in the search for an experienced Category Buyer. My client is a growing business with a £50million turnover, looking atexpanding on its current 250 employee base.My client is looking for an experienced Category Buyer to support the regional activities for the Procurement and Supply Chain function. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills and proven purchasing experience. The role will requirethe ability to manage and build strong working relationships and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and support the development of Assistant Buyers.Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing requisitions, sourcing, negotiating, and placing orders in support of business requirements
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager/Procurement Manager in the successful delivery of frameworks, Trading Agreements and Cost Saving Initiatives.
  • Conducting and reporting of key supplier meetings
  • Mentoring and assisting Assistant Buyers to promote development
  • Strategic account management of key suppliers.
Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain would be keen to speak with candidates who have the following skills and experiences:
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven purchasing experience
  • Good communication and computer skills are essential
  • The ability to act pro-actively and develop effective delegation skills
  • Effective professional, motivation, co-ordinating and organisational skills
