Job Description

School NurseLocation: Doucecroft School, ColchesterSalary: £27,000 - £32,000 FTE (pro-rata)Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (39 weeks per year, term-time only) (8-4.30/5pm)Job ref: D203The School Nurse is primarily responsible for:The health care, first aid and medical records of students throughout the School, the maintenance of First Aid equipment, and the administration of first aid to pupils and staff.Your main duties will include:

  • Emergency and ongoing routine medical care of students and staff
  • Resource management of equipment and supplies
  • To work with a range of stakeholders including families, students, staff and external colleagues
  • Confidential management of records, data and information
  • Act within the spirit, principles and values of the Charity ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and child protection at all times
  • Experience:Education and qualifications EssentialDesirableBSc Nursing degreeA-Level Qualifications or equivalentFirst Aid QualificationTo train as first aid trainer and medication trainerDocumented Continued Professional DevelopmentKnowledge and ExperienceEssentialDesirableSuccessful preceptorship complete/minimum 12 months experienceWorking within a school settingWorking with children and familiesWorking with people with autismWorking with a range of agenciesFull clean driving licenseKnowledge of safeguardingThis is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established charity.
