Job Description

Role - Chief Engineer / ConsultantSalary - £80k - £110k DOEFully RemoteMy client is a consultancy that transforms organisations, services and systems for the better, and delivers ambitious and sustainable digital outcomes for clients. They drive change through development, delivery and technology.As well as transforming systems and services for their clients, they strengthen the capability of their teams, delivering sustainable change.As the head of Engineering you will work with clients to consult and deliver on mission-critical, deep technical solutions across the enterprise, promote the highest quality engineering practices, and take a lead role delivering innovativetechnical solutions to bring about business change.Responsibilities

  • Set up and lead on the engineering expertise, culture, and delivery capabilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing internal engineering capability
  • Help clients modernise their architecture and core technologies
  • Consult on engineering good practice and quality standards
  • Take a lead technical role on the delivery of new architecture solutions and products
  • Encourage and support engineers to achieve high-quality engineering standards
  • Build full-stack automated quality from IAC through to UI testing
  • Hire and scale your own team to meet demand
Working with clients and their teams (of varying maturity/breadth) or partners to provide industry leading input and good practices, such as DevOps, CI/CD, and XP-style engineering practices. Working in a lead by doing capacity.Working with clients to decide on optimal architecture and solution designs, for example microservices oriented architecture vs SOA and centralised ESB. Ability to win people over using data and rationale arguments as to the pros/cons of different approaches.Essential Experience
  • Broad and deep enterprise engineering expertise
  • A technology and platform agnostic perspective
  • Strong track record delivering enterprise solutions on Azure
  • Understanding of architecture and design patterns, such as microservices
  • Working knowledge of serverless capabilities
  • Experience building fully automated delivery pipelines
