Senior Civil EngineerEdinburgh (or home based, which could be UK wide)£60,000-£65,000 + significant large company benefitsJob Reference: J105298Civil Engineer required, for work on prestigious, high value civil engineering projects internationally. Supporting the Work Winning and Operations and Delivery of significant £25 million+ valued projects, in Western Europe, UK and USA markets.Your key responsibilities will be:- Interrogate "Requests for Information/Requests for Quotation" for all civil engineering requirements and specifications.- Identify from RFI/RFQs the civil engineering activities that require costing and technical scoping.- Review and prepare RFI/RFQs to be submitted to Civil Works suppliers and subcontractors (and if required, structural steel and other product manufacturers)- Review RFI/RFQ responses, in line with overall business and client requirements- Challenge/query supplier RFI/RFQs- Negotiate best value with suppliers- Assess risks and propose risk mitigation strategies- Continuous improvement- Prepare quotations for civils elements of works- Provide inputs including (but not limited to): Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Schedules, Bill of Quantities, Costings- Develop (with Design and Drafting Department) trench profile drawings, foundation drawingsYour background and experience will include:- Previous experience on civils engineering projects of £10 million+ in a technical capacity- Ground risk / ground investigation OR dewatering / drainage / water management OR Soil pollution- Exposure to or management of high value utility installation or utility diversionary projects, ideally deep drainage, gas pipeline or high voltage electricity cable route works- Road or rail crossings or exposure to significant Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)- Degree or other higher level qualification in Civil Engineering or related disciplineOn offer is a generous salary, significant benefits package, flexible working options and the chance for European and International travel to company offices, client offices and work sites.This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with UK headquarters being in Edinburgh, Scotland.To apply please contact Gareth Bone or apply online
