PROJECTS LAWYERS, 2 - 10+ PQE Division Finance & ProjectsLocationAberdeen, Scotland or GlasgowThe Firm and the Team Addleshaw Goddard is a natural choice for FTSE100 clients and for the best talent. Our people fulfil their potential in an environment where they are developed and valued. They think in our clients shoes, as part of a team - effective business people as well as efficient lawyers. The firm has seen 60% growth in the last 5 years and the IPE team itself has seen double digit growth year on year for the last five years. We are continuing to grow this year in spite of the challenging business environment. We form a key part of our strategic vision to grow the firm nationally and, increasingly, internationally and our success is underpinned by a superb client list across our specialist sectors. Our RequirementsWe are looking for associates, managing associates and legal directors (2-10+ PQE) to join our fast-expanding team in Scotland and help service our ever growing roster of major infrastructure, energy and utilities, transport, health, local authority and central government clients. This includes a number of ex-corporate lawyers who have diversified into projects and so this would assist in continuing your development in corporate work and build wider experience in other disciplines, whilst allowing you to have much more of a focus on the fascinating sectors in which we operate. You would be first and foremost, an Infrastructure, Projects and Energy lawyer.Current and recent matter include advising:

  • As this shows, we have a fantastic variety of work. Its not just big ticket, high pressure transactions though - we also do a whole range of smaller matters, providing a great arena for juniors to gain experience in a supportive environment. There is an opportunity to specialise, or gain experience in, many different areas. Some team members have a particular focus - for example corporate infrastructure/energy transactions, public procurements and/or real estate aspects of infrastructure. This is reflected in the background of team members - you do not need to have worked in a "Projects" team before. We have alumni from banking, construction, corporate, real estate, insolvency and other areas - as well as engineering and museum curation (as we are a diverse team with some members enjoying second careers). In essence we advise on commercial contracts relating to energy, infrastructure, transport and many types of public/private sector transactions.Knowledge, skills and experience requiredYou will have:
